Natalie & Martin's Wedding Day in Fort Worth, Texas at The Paddock.

June 4, 2022.

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is being able to see & capture the emotion from your friends & family at your wedding. The love you feel on a wedding day is like no other & everyone in the room is happy for the newlyweds. Everything I see happen is forever a memory that my couple will relive for the rest of their lives. I tend to think of myself as a fly on the wall during weddings, because in most cases I don’t know your entire family or all your friends, I only know the bride & the groom & I have to make myself fit in. This wasn’t a hard task at Natalie & Martin’s wedding, their family & friends all made me feel welcome & as one of them for the night.

This day was full of love, happiness, dancing, & good people. The day started with the bride & groom getting ready, meanwhile all the florists were making their final touches on the arch that would be displayed at their ceremony, the wedding planners were making sure all vendors were on time & I was ready to start photographing the day. I said hello to Natalie & Martin, this was actually the first time ever meeting them in person, we had many conversations on the phone before this day & had been in contact planning for over a year, this was crazy to me, because everything was leading up to this day.

Natalie was getting ready in the hotel next door with all of her bridesmaids & closest family. As the nerves kept coming, so did the time for Natalie to finally slip into her wedding dress on her wedding day. Meanwhile Martin was doing the same, getting ready with all of his groomsmen & making the final touches. Martin was eager to see his bride & get the ball rolling. Natalie made her way to the bridge where she would see her dad for the first time after getting ready. Moments like this are so precious & sentimental, it truly felt unreal. After Natalie’s first look with her dad it was time for Natalie & Martin to have their first look. Once they saw each other in their wedding attire during their first look, they were overwhelmed with joy, tears, & love to finally see each other. A day they had talked so much about was happening & this was their moment. The couple decided to share their personal vows after their first look. After the couple wrapped up their vows the two headed inside to cool off before the ceremony started. Their officiant was a very close family friend & he was a surprise to all of their guests that knew him! All the details throughout their day, I mean I’m a sucker for it! Once the ceremony came the room was full of their loved ones & the room was filed with love. Soon enough the couple was now Mr & Mrs. Garcia, they danced their way down the aisle & then celebrated with their bridal party. Post ceremony is always filled with photo; this means family photos, bridal party photos, & the bride & groom portraits. This was my time to shine & I did, I photographed everything that the couple could possibly ever want & more.

Once it was time for the reception to start the couple entered down the staircase dancing on their way down to go into their first dance as a married couple. Toasts were made & dinner was served. After dinner the couple went around the room thanking all of their guests for celebrating with them. Natalie & her dad shared a dance & Martin did the same with his mom. After first dances the newlyweds decided it was time for cake! There isn’t a bad time for cake cutting & the couple was ready to party! After the couple cut their cake, it was time to open up the dance floor & continue celebrating! They did just that! As the night progressed guests were getting sweaty as a result of dancing too much, the older guests were disappearing to their hotel room as it was past their bed time & the small kiddos we’re doing the same in their mom’s arms. Before the night was over Natalie & Martin ended their wedding with a private last dance to one of their favorite songs. They danced & sang the lyrics to their song as I soon left the two of them with each other. After the song came to a end the married couple did their sparkler exit with the remaining family & friends that stayed til the end of the night. Before the couple left to their hotel room there was one more shot to be taken with Natalie’s dad. One of the best ways to end off your wedding! This wedding day went by too quickly & was truly one of my favorite weddings to capture. I forever wish the best of luck to Natalie & Martin & can’t wait to see where life takes them. I’m so grateful to couples like Natalie & Martin for trusting me & my team to capture their day. It’s always an honor & I wouldn’t be doing this without my amazing clients.

Best Rental Clothing & Thrift Shops as a Wedding Guest!

Wedding season is upon us and buying a dress for every occasion can get expensive for a one time use! I have a few recommendations for all you wedding guests this upcoming season!

Rent The Runway - Rent The Runway offer one time rentals & dresses can be around $25-150 depending on the brand, style, and popularity. Rent The Runaway also offers 3 memberships options each month & is great to change up your closet!

@reviveyosoul - This is a Houston, Texas based business, they offer all kinds of gowns that are perfect as a wedding guest, bride, & mama to be! They offer amazing dresses to rent for all kinds of photoshoots & occasions!

Nuuly Rent - Nuuly Rent offers a membership based service & more affordable! They do the laundry for you, so no worries about washing & cleaning before sending it back. I love how they categorize by looks & occasions!

Another great option instead of renting is thrifting your attire! I’m a lover of thrifting & you can so easily do this if you’re trying to stay on the budget! Thrifting can be time consuming, however the money you can potentially save makes it so worth it. Personally I’m a sucker for thrifting & love going! I wanted to share some of my favorite thrift stores in the Houston & Austin areas.

Houston Thrift Stores:

Salvation Army off of Washington Ave in Houston. They have such a big variety of men’s & women’s clothing & accessories, home decor, & furniture. Every Wednesday at Salvation Army is 50% off everything (I believe this is everywhere or just at certain locations).

Address: 2208 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007

Salvation Army in Pearland off of 518 is one of my go to thrift stores! This store has the most friendly staff & well stocked in every department every time I’m there! I constantly find the best clothing, brands, & unique finds here! Again, Half off Wednesdays is where it’s at!

Address: 3260 E Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581

Forgotten Angels Resale Shop is in the same strip center as Salvation Army in Pearland. Forgotten Angels is a great store & they have weekly deals. They have a giant selection of home decor, crafts, furniture, and art however, the clothing selection is more limited, but they still have a great variety! I love finding pots for my plants, little trinkets, jackets, & mugs here!

Address: 3216 E Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581

The Shepard’s Nook in Friendswood, Texas. This is a cash only business & they have very limited hours of service, but this is by far my favorite thrift store in all of Houston area. I have found some of my best finds within this small blue house. They have a wide selection of men’s, women’s, & children’s clothing, shoes, & accessories, housewares & decor. Plus, the prices are incomparable, it’s such a great little store!

Address: 201 N Friendswood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546

Treasure City Thrift in Austin, Texas. I have only been here once, but the time I did go, they have a pretty good selection of everything you could want in a thrift store! The prices were incredibly low, considering you’re in Austin. I love pretty unique glassware pieces for only a few bucks!

Address: 2142 E 7th St, Austin, TX 78702

Goodwill Outlet aka the Goodwill Bins in Austin, Texas. I absolutely love the South Austin location, but they do have a North Austin location. Every time I go it doesn’t disappoint! You will want to come prepared, gloves, reusable bag to put all your goodies in, comfy shoes, a mask (this place is always packed), & hand sanitizer! At Goodwill Outlets they price everything by the weight, so all clothing is $1.49/lb.

Address: 6505 Burleson Rd, Austin, TX 78744

Wishing y’all good luck on your future thrift finds & hope this helps y’all!

Katherine & Juan's Couple's Session in Downtown Austin, Texas.

I had the privilege of photographing my sweet friends while they staying in Austin, Texas for the weekend. I always have the best of times at sessions when my client’s are close friends of mine. Juan surprised Kat with a weekend trip to Austin & it just so happened I was available to do this spur of the moment session with them. They decided to go to Laguna Gloria in Downtown Austin, Texas. It was such a unique place, there were trees & greenery everywhere. As well as art all around the indoor & outdoor spaces, since it’s a Contemporary Art Museum. We had the best time & found a little spot where we could see Lake Austin, which was how we wrapped up our session.
