5 traditions you may want to include on your wedding day 💫

Traditional weddings are not dead & I want to share 5 traditions you may want to include on your wedding day!

  • WRITE PERSONAL VOWS!

If you plan to say personal vows during your ceremony or in private, plan to write them down after you get ready! Take a few minutes to yourself on your special day!

  • FIRST LOOK WITH YOUR BRIDESMAIDS!

If you aren’t planning on doing a first look with your spouse before your ceremony, doing one with your bridesmaids is a great way to include this tradition into your timeline. You can always have a first look with your parent/s, sibling/s, or anyone special in your life!

  • HAVE A GRAND ENTRANCE AS NEWLYWEDS!

Right before you enter your reception plan out a grand entrance this can be done with your bridal party or just the two of y’all!

  • FIRST DANCES WITH YOUR PARENT!

The traditional father & daughter or mother & son dances are a beautiful moment between you & your parent to symbolize the love and guidance they received throughout their life, and this usually follows the bride and groom's first dance.

  • CUTTING THE CAKE!

This tradition is meant to represent the first act that the couple does together, it's always a fun & lovely moment to share together with your guests! Plus, you can mash cake in your partner’s face!

Madison & Ricky's Traditional Wedding at Vintage Oaks Farm in Driftwood, Texas.

After sending the full gallery of The Jackson’s Wedding day & I knew I had to share their wedding gallery with y’all! Madison & Ricky’s day was so easy breezy & authentic to them! Once I arrived I started my day as I do any other wedding day, details of the venue & day. After putting on the final touches of their wedding day fit, then the couple did their first look with each other. Before the ceremony started we did all the bridal party photos, which was great, because after the ceremony we were able to knock out the family photos & their couples as newlyweds! Plus, the couple wanted to enjoy a bit of their own cocktail hour with their guests, which was great! The reception begun and the couple went straight into their first dance together before dinner was served. I was just so in love with their cake, because it was so much fun & not your typical wedding cake, but I’m so here for this style of cake aka sprinkles everywhere!! After cutting the cake was when on the party started & before we knew it the night was over & they were walking through sparklers as The Jacksons. I’m so blessed & grateful for amazing couples that trust me with their wedding day & allow me to be apart of it. Thank you Madison & Ricky for letting me capture your love it’s always a privilege!

Alice & Justin's Engagement Session in Galveston, Texas.

I’m so excited to share Alice & Justin’s Engagement Session with y’all, because I love everything about their session! I will be photographing these two get married this weekend! I love these two together & can’t wait to see where life takes them! However, we are gonna throw it back to their engagement session & this day couldn’t have been more perfect! We had a bit of trouble when scheduling it in, because at the time the weather was raining & just not what we needed for photos, so we decided to reschedule it & I’m so glad we did! The evening had cotton candy skies & Alice & Justin were truly the main characters that evening. I had them running all around the beach, holding hands, and being in love. These two did it so effortlessly and it was such an amazing evening to spend with them. I love photographing beautiful people in beautiful places. Also, their photos are just effortlessly breathtaking.
